About Our Club

New Horizons Cycling Club 2014

New Horizons Cycling Club is based on the West Rand of Gauteng and was registered as an official club in April 2005, with 26 members. We currently have in excess of 90 members.

Our club welcomes everybody, regardless of race, religion or creed. We are family oriented and a close knit group.

This is truly the club with the Cheers mantra, "Where everybody knows your name."

New Horizons has always had a proud racing heritage, fiercely competing in the inter-club series and winning in the 2005 season. In 2006 the racing team had 4 victories in the A-open group. The A-open racing team recently won the EPR race at Randfontein and has a number of top 5 and top 10 finishes this season. 2010 has seen our racing team win 4 races and we are optimistic that we will achieve a few more podiums this year.

We also cater for Racing vets across the age groups and also have a presence in the under 16 group. Our Ladies section is growing and is social at this stage. We have a newly established Mountain Biking section and there are a number of members who cross over between the disciplines. New Mountain Bikers are welcome.

We cater for all cyclists, regardless of ability and anybody interested in joining our club is welcome to join us on 3 rides before making a decision.

Please check out our Membership page and read our Code of Conduct.

Social Responsibility

Charities that we support include the TAG group, Meals on Wheels, the Baby Moses Sanctuary as well as the Coronation Training Centre. We also contributed to the building of a crèche in an informal settlement in Pretoria, named after New Horizons.
